Become a Housing Host

Our Home Stay Program offers a meaningful way for community members and supporters to help!

Our hosting needs this year are Dec 18, 19, 20, 2025 and  March 26, 27, 28, 2026.

Many of our professional musicians reside throughout the Pacific Northwest (and beyond!) and travel to the Tri-Cities to bring exceptional live music to our community.

By opening your home to a traveling musician, you provide more than just a place to stay. You offer comfort, hospitality and connection that really helps our musicians feel at home while away from home. You also help reduce travel and lodging costs for the symphony, ensuring more of our resources are used for presenting unforgettable musical experiences.

Hosts provide a private bedroom and access to basic amenities during the week of rehearsals and the concert, typically Thursday to Saturday. In return, many form real friendships with the musicians, enjoy learning more about their work, and being a part of the shared effort that brings great music to our stage. Additionally, the MCS is pleased to offer two tickets to the performance featuring their hosted musician as our way of saying thank you!

Minimum Requirements:

  • Home must be within the Tri-Cities area.
  • A clean, safe private room.
  • Access to a clean, full bathroom.
  • Space for musicians to practice during the day. This may be the bedroom.
  • Provide basic amenities such as fresh sheets, towels, toiletries and Wifi.
  • Light kitchen access (such as refrigerator space)
  • Provide a way for musician to enter the house at all times (key, lock code, person guaranteed to be home, etc)
  • Home has functioning smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors (where needed), and reasonable outdoor lighting.
  • Parking for a car (street parking is okay).

Meals:
Musicians handle their own meals, but many appreciate sharing meals with hosts. While providing meals isn’t required, it’s a kind gesture enjoyed by both parties. Meal details should be agreed upon beforehand between the musician and host to ensure a smooth stay.

Please note that filling out this form does not obligate you to open your home, nor does it guarantee a placement for every concert.  The Mid-Columbia Symphony will retain this information to best match musicians to hosts based on schedules, needs and preferences.  If you would like to remove your name from our list, please fill out the second form.
