As we transition to an in-person audience, the number of tickets sold will be reduced to allow for safe social distancing in the venue. We will use current recommendations and guidelines from Washington State and the Benton Franklin County Health Department and the performance venue to develop and implement safety protocols for both rehearsals and performances.
You have probably heard or assumed that we will not be playing music together physically for an undetermined time. Based on the guidelines and recommendations from local and national sources, this is true. The Board made the decision, with regard to the health and safety of you, our staff, and our patrons, to indefinitely postpone our 75th season finale of Brahms: Requiem, scheduled for May 16th. This is in addition to the previous postponement of “Salute to Youth” side-by-side with Mid-Columbia Youth Symphony and our Young Artist winners on March 21st, as well as the Mid-Columbia Youth Orchestra’s spring concert that was to be held on May 9th.
An email will be sent soon regarding ticket purchases for our postponed concerts. If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office by email at email@example.com or by calling (509)943-6602.
We are committed to rescheduling our last two concerts and will do so as soon as we are able to come together again safely and can find a suitable venue for both.
Based on recent guidance from local and national resources regarding COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus), and for the health and safety of our patrons, musicians, youth, and staff, the Mid-Columbia Symphony Board has made the difficult, but important, decision to postpone our ‘Salute to Youth’ concert that was planned for 3/21/2020; rescheduling to be determined at a later date.
The MCS Board and staff will be in regular communication and will provide any updates about our future performances and event schedule. It is more important than ever to follow all health recommendations and guidelines from local, state, federal, and world health organizations.
Due to the financial impact of the postponement of the Mid-Columbia Arts Fundraiser and to the postponement of this concert and other events within our community, we ask you to consider a financial donation to the Mid-Columbia Symphony and our partners in the arts community. We ask our patrons, whenever possible, to consider ticket exchanges or a donation in the amount of the ticket purchased.
Thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding during these uncertain times. Please take care and we look forward to seeing you soon.
